From Baywatch to the Ice Cream Truck

Remember the TV show Baywatch? Of course you do. Everybody does. The show starred David Hasselhoff and a variety of blond women as lifeguards (Hassellhoff also played a lifeguard despite not being blond or a woman).

Nicole Eggert was one of those blond TV lifeguards. But she’s not on fictional beach patrol anymore. She’s driving an ice cream truck. In real life.

This is not Eggert employing a method actor technique to research an upcoming role (we don’t think). This former Baywatch blond is serious about her ice cream.

Eggert took to Twitter a couple of weeks ago to share the news on her career change. She says she is now the proud owner of a mint-green ice cream truck. Eggert has apparently started an ice cream company called Scopes. On the website Eggert describes the company as a family business bringing a “unique and innovative twist to the ice cream man.” (It seems Eggert is the “ice cream man” in this scenario.

Eggert seems to be working hard at her new ice cream career. She is, in fact, driving the ice cream and serving ice cream. She also been making good use of social media, tweeting the location of her ice cream truck during the day. It’s quite possible this is one-woman act, at least for now.

She’s apparently serving up some variety. Among the frosty goodies in her ice cream truck are ice cream cakes and root beer floats. She’s staying true to the classic favorites as well, serving popsicles and simple scoops of ice cream.

We are left to wonder if it was easy to say goodbye to Hollywood and climb behind the wheel of an ice cream truck, but Eggert seems to have a passion for ice cream. We can relate to that passion and respect her dedication.
