Praline’s serves dozens of award-winning ice cream flavors. There are two special days coming up that honor two of our most popular flavors. Sunday, February 26 is National Pistachio Day, and Monday, February 27 is National Strawberry Day. We invite you to come to your local Praline’s and try some of our delicious Pistachio or Strawberry ice cream, or have a scoop of each.
Pistachios have been grown in the Middle East for thousands of years. They were introduced to the United States in the 1880s. Pistachio trees grow to heights of about 20 feet. They need high heat and very little rain. Pistachio shells have a natural beige color and usually split when the nuts are ripe. The kernels can be eaten whole, either fresh or roasted and salted or unsalted. About 300 million pounds of pistachios are produced in California every year. That state produces about 98 percent of the pistachios in the United States.
Strawberries are an aromatic fruit that belong to the same family as roses. They grow all over the world, except for the most northern and southern regions. Over 600 varieties of strawberries are grown. They are an excellent source of vitamin C, folic acid, potassium, and fiber. It is unclear how strawberries got their name.
Come to Praline’s on February 26 for National Pistachio Day or on February 27 for National Strawberry Day. Praline’s serves Pistachio ice cream with roasted and salted pistachios and Strawberry ice cream with fresh strawberries. We can make you a sundae or cone with scoops of one or both of these flavors, or you can combine them with any of our dozens of other varieties.
If you would like your ice cream in a sundae, Praline’s has dozens of toppings. We can serve your ice cream sundae with fudge, caramel, butterscotch, or peanut butter sauce; fruit; candy; cookies; and nuts.
If you love Pistachio or Strawberry ice cream, come to Praline’s to celebrate National Pistachio Day on February 26 or National Strawberry Day on February 27. Better yet, come in for both and try scoops of both of these delicious flavors. Praline’s has locations all over Connecticut. Bring your whole family.
