National Oreo Cookie Day is coming up next Monday, March 6. Every year, this day is dedicated to the celebration of what many people consider their favorite cookie of all time. Praline’s invites you to come to the shop closest to you and try some of our delicious, freshly made ice cream featuring Oreo cookies.
The Oreo was developed by the National Biscuit Company, which later became known as Nabisco, in New York City in 1912. It was called the “Oreo Biscuit.” The cookie was later renamed the “Oreo Sandwich” and the “Oreo Creme Sandwich” The modern design of the Oreo was developed by William A. Turnier in 1952. The modern Oreo filling was developed by Sam Procello, the principal food scientist at Nabisco.
Praline’s has not one, but four flavors of ice cream featuring Oreo cookies. We have Oreo ice cream with Oreo cookies, Mint Oreo with mint-flavored ice cream and Oreo cookies, and Coffee Oreo with coffee ice cream and Oreo cookies. We also have Cookie Kaboom with vanilla ice cream, Oreos, and other types of cookies. You can come in and try any one of these flavors, or you can truly embrace the spirit of the day and order a scoop of each.
We can serve your Oreo ice cream on one of our four types of cones, or we can make you a sundae piled high with any of our dozens of toppings. We have several sauces to choose from, including mallocream fudge, caramel, butterscotch, and peanut butter. We can serve your sundae with cookies on top, including Oreos. We can top your sundae with your choice of fruit, nuts, marshmallow fluff, and several types of candy.
There is nothing like a sundae or cone filled with ice cream and Oreos. Bring your whole family to Praline’s on March 6 to celebrate National Oreo Cookie Day. We have locations all over Connecticut, so there is sure to be one near you.
