There’s a place for beer and ice cream.

In the same bowl.

Let’s start off with the fact that beer and ice cream do have a few things in common. Indulge in too much of either and your waistline will certainly expand. Plus, fans of both can have very strong opinions about what constitutes “good” beer and “good” ice cream.

This means some “purists” might not like the idea of mixing beer and ice cream. Others see it as a way to combine two of their favorite things.

Look at it this way: The root beer float has been popular for decades. Some folks just take out the root and keep the beer. Okay, that might be oversimplifying things a bit.

Still, like many other good things paired with ice cream, beer incorporation into ice cream benefits from creativity.

There is no reason an adult who enjoys beer and ice cream cannot experiment with a beer ice cream float. Drop a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream into a frosty mug then a healthy dose of your favorite beer. If you do an internet search, you’ll actually find a handful of restaurants and pubs that offer a beer float.

Oh, we mentioned vanilla ice cream a minute ago. There’s no hard and fast rule that says you have to use vanilla ice cream. Think about all the varieties of ice cream. All those different flavors. For that matter, think about all the different types of beers.

There are not many wrong ways to enjoy your ice cream, especially if you are indulging in the best ice cream. Praline’s still delivers the ice cream taste you’ve come to know and love.
