We have all heard about homemade ice cream. Heck, many of us have our favorite homemade ice cream recipes.

But what about homemade ice cream cones?

Sounds pretty good.

Think it’s hard to make homemade ice cream cones? Well, it’s all a matter of perspective. It’s not as difficult as space travel or fixing the national deficit but it’s definitely harder than just opening up that box of pre-packed ice cream cones you grabbed during that stop at the grocery store when you were only supposed to be getting milk and nothing more.

Whew. Anyway, back to ice cream cones. If you like ice cream and adventure, why not try making homemade ice cream cones? You can find many ice cream cone recipes online, many of which are not too complicated or requiring a ton of ingredients.

In fact, if you make an impressive enough ice cream cone, you may be able to convert an “ice cream cup” person to a full-fledged “ice cream cone” person.

A warm waffle cone with a scoop of vanilla ice cream is a delicious ice cream treat.

Some ice cream cones can be made at home using simple ingredients like white bread. Here’s the simple, abridged version of such an ice cream cone recipe:

Start by cutting off the crusts of the white bread. You can use a pasta roller to produce super-thin sheets of white bread cone base. Brush each slice with melted butter and a touch of sugar. Break out the parchment paper and lay it on top of a baking sheet. Place the sheets of bread down on top of the parchment paper, then back at 325 degrees for about five-six minutes.

As soon as the bread is removed from the oven, wrap each piece around a cone roller for about 30 seconds or until it take shape.
